Super Bowl Festivities!

I have to admit, I didn't find much information on the world wide web. I thought I'd find lots of great ideas and favors, (favors being my favorite part of a party!) but I didn't. My hubby is from Louisiana so I'm really wanting to make him proud, and this will be my first football themed party of any sort. I am not a football fan by any stretch of the imagination, but if I can make a party out of it, then I'm all in!

There are lots of great invitations on etsy and ebay but we are saving pennies right now (every single one we can) so I made my own. I admit that they aren't professional but they are memorable and I'm sure will bring a smile to our friends faces:

I used the paint program for the first time on this project and I plastered my husbands face onto a football player and then put the Saints motto on the player. I think they turned out really great and they were made for pennies!

I'm planning on making some football truffles with a super simple oreo/cream cheese recipe and buying some football cookies for the dessert. I also want to make a football cake if I get time.

For the game 'staple' I'm going to make either chili or taco soup. The one thing there is an abundance in online for the superbowl is superbowl eats...I will post the rest of the party and the favors when I get them done. Really looking forward to getting everything together!

Rob Thomas, Carolina Liar & The Swine Flu

To make a VERY long story short, thanks to the swine flu my husband and I got to sit in the 12th row at the Rob Thomas concert in OKC. This is only the second concert I've attended in my life so I was one of "those" people who stood up the entire time and belted out "LIKE SEVEN INCHES FROM THE MIDDAY SUN" so loudly that I could barely talk the next day. This was just an amazing concert and he's such a down to earth person that you really feel like you can relate to him. (Even if he does live on a mansion and doesn't worry about his bills quite as much teehee)
My 15 year old daughter, Bethanie, FLIPPED out when she found out that Carolina Liar was going to be there. She was so upset. I had no idea who the group was until I heard their songs and then I felt really bad for not bringing her along. My husband and I redeemed ourselves by buying her a CL shirt and the entire band signed it and even put TO BETHANIE with a heart by it. Of course this is my first experience with talking with a band in real life but they were SO friendly to EVERYONE and shook our hands and it was just really really REALLY fun. My only regret is not taking my camera in. I thought it would be a 'banned' thing but I guess not because people next to me and in front of me were shootin' like they were the paparazzi with their big fancy cameras. So my poor little cell phone came got this:

and I will remember it for a lifetime!

REVIEW
We received the gian package from Creative Clips and we are so EXCITED!! It was like Christmas unwrapping all of the bows, they are SO pretty and the quality is amazing! My 7 year old loves all the different styles and the clip stand is perfect for keeping them all within easy reach! Even my 15 year old has been spotted wearing some of them, there's a style for everyone! My favorite is the red feather headband which will be great to wear with all her different Christmas outfits, but there truly is a clip for every occassion!
One thing I REALLY love about these clips is that they don't slip out like all the other clips out there. Miss Colleen has a speccial little something on each and every cute piece of goodness that keeps it from slipping from even the finest of hair! We have already been surfing around picking out with designs we want next!
If I had 13 roses they'd go to Colleen! If you're looking for something for Christmas or birthdays or just because, look at these clips, because they are amazing!!

http://sandfibers.blogspot.com/

UPDATE: All I can say is OH MY GOODNESS! The picture Ms.Sandy has on her site is amazing but REALLY, it does not do justice!!! The picture I saw on the web shows all of the detail, which makes the cuff look big but in real life it is not huge at all is size PERFECT! I can see me wearing it to a Christmas event and to my daughters' talent show, I see me looking swanky at a club because I've got a CUSTOM piece that THEY don't have (nanner nanner!). My 15 year old daughter, Bethanie, is already begging me to let her wear it and has even picked out outfits it will go with!! One of the things I LOVE is the cute little box and ribbons that it was all packed in. I am such a stickler on first impression and this was SO IMPRESSIVE! I'm so glad that this is my first review because I can give it NOTHING LESS than a dozen pink pink pink roses. I am loving this! (Thank you again, I am smitten!)
